Beguiled, by Deeanne Gist and J. Mark Bertrand, Isn't the title alone of this book- Beguiled- enough to catch your attention? This is another good book. If you think I just love all the books I review and don't want to say anything negative, please keep in mind that I get to pick and choose which books I commit to reviewing, so I pick ones that sound really interesting to me. This particular book is by authors I was not previously familiar with, but I would definitely try them out again!
From the publisher:
In the shadows of Charleston, someone is watching her
Rylee Monroe, a dogwalker in Charleston's wealthiest neighborhood, never feared the streets at night. But now a thief is terrorizing the area and worse, someone seems to be targeting her.
Reporter Logan Woods is covering the break-ins with the hope of publishing them as a true-crime book. The more he digs, the more he realizes this beguiling dogwalker seems to be at the center of everything.
As danger draws ever closer, Logan must choose: Chase the girl, the story, or plunge into the shadows after the villain who threatens everything?
My review:
Beguiled is a good book that brings suspense to Charleston, SC. Rylee is a dogwalker whose wealthy clients are the victims of theft...and she finds herself being stalked, while the police's big suspect for the thefts. She finds herself relying on crime reporter, Logan, to be her support. What I like:
This book leaves you wondering who is the good guy and who is threatening the safety of Rylee and Charleston. It was a quick and enjoyable read with great characters. I loved that they used familiar locations around town. I especially enjoyed the ending and how the authors wrapped up the loose ends.
What I dislike:
There was definitely some kissing in this book. It's not overwhelming, but still a tad bit more than I like to see in Christian fiction.
I do recommend this book!
Thank you to Bethany House for providing me with a copy of this book to review.

I'm with you. I try very hard to pick and choose books that I know I'm going to like - or, at least, have a reasonable chance at liking. Saves negative reviews and my own personal reading time - which is valuable!
Makes writing reviews a pleasure also!
Appreciated your thoughts on this one as I haven't read it.
Hope you had a great weekend!
