Easy Lunch Boxes Review and Giveaway

Baggies. We use a lot of them! Several years ago when I saw a reusable sandwich keeper for packing lunches we started using it for all of my husband's lunches, and now we have found something even better to use!
I'm excited to share with you a product that is new to me. Easy Lunch Boxes make more than a sandwich keeper. It helps you organize and prepare lunches while keeping waste to a minimum. In addition to a compartment for a sandwich, there are two more compartments. The lunch bag also has plenty of room to keep a drink, piece of fruit, and yogurt along with an ice pack. Easy Lunch Boxes products are FDA approved. No BPA, phthalates, lead, vinyl, or PVC. Safe for dishwasher and microwave. Our Review: We have had the chance to use the Easy Lunch Box System for a couple of weeks now. My husband is the only one who needs to pack a daily lunch, so he used it, though it'd be fun for picnics, too. It's a good choice for families who want to cut down on waste in lunch boxes and use a variety of unpackaged foods. The lunch bag is sturdy and plenty big enough. The food containers (they come in a four pack) work well too. There is plenty of room for a full sandwich and two side items. I would prefer that the containers be able to hold liquid items like applesauce or yogurt, but each individual compartment does not have an airtight seal. (Kelly explains why here. She also offers a great solution here!) These are still great for families and quite practical. You can buy the containers by themselves or get a lunch bag, too! Visit EasyLunchboxes.com to learn more about the products, get lunch ideas, read about Kelly Lester the creator and founder, and to make any purchases. On the blog I read this interesting fact: A disposable lunch costs $4.02 per day, versus $2.65 for a waste-free lunch. That translates to a savings of about $246.60 per child per year. I knew it saved money to not buy individually packaged items, but it also saves the landfills! I'm a former teacher; I know how quickly those giant wastebaskets get filled during lunch time at schools. Keep in mind that grown-ups need to eat lunch at work, too! They can also save money and have less waste.
Kelly Lester has graciously offered to give a set of four containers and a cooler bag to one of our readers! To Enter: Leave a comment telling me why you want to use the Easy Lunch Box System in your home. Be sure to include what color bag you would like if you win. Leave a way to contact you! Bonus Entries: Visit Easy Lunch Boxes and tell me something you learned . (1 entry) Tell me your favorite on-the-go lunch! (1 entry) Visit the blog and tell me something you learned. (1 entry) Follow my blog. (1 entry each) Leave a separate comment for each entry. I will choose a winner with random.org. Contest ends Sunday, April 25 at 7pm (EST). Winner will have 48 hours to claim their prize! Thank you, Kelly, for providing these products for review purposes!

That's a cool trick they share about putting yogurt in one of the compartments, cover with wax paper then put the lid on tightly. Genius!

I went to the site and I learned that the boxes are microwave proof which was one of the questions I had. That's good to note....

Goodbye brown lunch bags- They always ripped for me anyway... I was recently at AC Moore (craft supply store) and I saw a set of reusable shopping bags. One bag was large, and one was small. I decided to purchase it and use the large one for shopping and the small one as a lunch pail. It has worked out really well for me and I am glad I thought to make the purchase.

I always use the round ziploc containers for liquids or spills because they have a lid that screws on and seals tight. They are pretty inexpensive too, and I was able to find coupons for them online.

Oooh, I would love to win one of these. There are so many reasons! I pack my husband's lunch daily and over time I've tried to make it more eco-friendly. We've made big strides given the fact that when we met he didn't use a sandwich bag at all. He just put his PB & J right in the lunch bag. I guess one could argue that he was being VERY eco-friendly, but YUCK! Also, he desperately needs a new lunch bag. I'm ashamed to admit the zipper pull came off and I've replaced it with a twist tie more than once. Yeah, it's time. I'd love to have one of these! He'd definitely like a black bag. Thanks to you and Kelly for the opportunity!

Okay, here's my second entry! Can you tell I want this one? I visited the web site and I learned about lunch box "flair." I sometimes tuck something special into my husband's lunch (a note, picture, drawing) but never thought of putting anything on the outside. Great idea!

My favorite on-the-go lunch isn't so "on-the-go" since I eat at home most of the time. It is quick, though! I eat soup and a veggie burger almost every day. I make a big batch of soup once a week (I vary it week to week) and eat it with a veggie burger, egg salad, or tuna. It's easy because I make it ahead of time and I don't have to think about it. Sometimes I make my lunch the night before when I make my husband's lunch. Then I can just pull it from the fridge.

I visited the blog and learned how to keep liquids from leaking. I'll be looking for the pre-cut wax paper squares Kelly found!

I subscribed! I should have done this before, but honestly I just check every day. You might not know it's me, because it automatically signed me up using my more anonymous screen profile "CaseyB15." Sigh, I couldn't figure out how to sign up as BookMomma. Thanks! Very cool give-away!

This would be great for us for so many reasons! Lunch for the kids when we go places, for my husband on the days he has to go to the office. The list goes on and on! My 4 year old says he likes black. :)

Our favorite on the go lunch-my kids anyway-is peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. We also take cheese sticks, crackers, and fruit on our go-lunches.

My favorite on the go lunch is a crisp salad with fresh fruit on the side. My daughter insists on bringing her lunch to school every day in stead of buying which is fine with me. She loves mac n cheese and pbj!

Black would be the color of choice!

Ii'd love one of these, as I'm trying to eat healthy and get away from eating out. I love the separate compartments, and yet the container actually fits in the lunchbox carrier designed for it, with room for more stuff. Awesome!

I like the Green carrier!
