Two years ago I made this card for my husband for Valentine's Day. It still hangs on our refrigerator with a Bible verse inside that remains an excellent way to show love.Though this is perfectly appropriate for a grown up to make, it is equally appropriate for a child learning to sew.
The idea and template came from Make and Takes. She has other cute stitched cards, too. She also inspired me to make my own template for a Housewarming Stitched Card.
Last year I made an Owl Valentine's Day card for my husband. Do you make your own cards? I would love to see your ideas! Please inspire me!

Since you asked...In the past, I have at times, made Jerry cards. One in particular that I liked was a blue background with a print of a folk style painting on the front (think Grandma Moses) of an older couple watching children play. I put below that Deut. 7:9. Then inside I printed a sentiment about in the future growing old and grey together, watching our future grandchildren play, and creating a legacy of love and faith...It was all cut and paste, nothing fancy, but it said what I was feeling better than what I could find in the card isle.
That's a cute idea. I'll have to remember it. Yesterday we sat down and the boys made cards for all the relatives. We stuck with stickers and glue which is about as much as I can handle at present and it was a stretch for me.(The glue part, that is.) And the littlest one was working coloring on the paper ONLY. (Can you tell I don't craft much!? We're in the beginning stages of art in any form!)
